My twenty-five year career in designing and building springs from my enthusiasm for creating beautiful spaces that are long-lasting, sustainable, and a pleasure to live or work in.   I find that incorporating found objects and recycled materials creates unique buildings and furnishings while providing those involved in the process with both challenges and rewards. 

In the planning and designing process I study the entire site, in relation to the client’s needs and desires, to fully utilize existing conditions -- views, sun and shade, site water, scale, trees, grades and soil.  I combine my design skills with budgets, existing conditions and client wishes.  The results are unique, interesting, functional and desirable.

In the hands-on building process, the designs can be mocked-up, rethought, reworked or readjusted to meet the challenges of newly available, yet previously used materials.  We pride ourselves on flexibility -- the only way to work when incorporating recycled building materials.
